A Potpourri of Poems -- A basketful of thoughts on life's dramas

STATEN ISLAND, NY, July 15, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Humanity in all its versions is what the author has pondered and put to pen in A Potpourri of Poems (now available through 1stBooks) by A. J. Viscosi. Poems reflect events as seen through the eyes of the author, including war, bondage, terrorism and heroism.

Also included are themes on love, hate, forgiveness, nature, and sport figures of the past and present. This basketful of thoughts will inspire the reader to think about his or her own life's dramas and examine his or her slant on life.

The book began as a few collected thoughts on the spiritual nature of our being after the author read a book trilogy entitled, "A Conversation With God." The book then took on a broader view of life in general with all of its dramas being played out on the world scene including war, hate, love, compassion, wonderment of nature, abuse of nature, heroism, etc.

Its broad scope and deep meaning has something to offer for all who have ever pondered life and its relationships to each other. Viscosi's poems are thought-provoking in their spectrum of topics that have relevance in our daily lives.

Author A.J. Viscosi had written a few poems as a teenager. However, after a hiatus of some fifty years, he had read a series of books entitled, "A Conversation with God." And so it was that, after reading these books, the author was inspired to jot down a few lines of verse about different topics that piqued his thoughts of life's dramas being played out on the world's stage. Contained within the pages are profound, engaging, and inspirational words.

Viscosi was born and raised in New York City and still resides there. He served four years in the military, is married, and has two sons and two grandchildren. This is his first book.
