Festival of Poems -- Highly Regarded Poetess Celebrates Life, Love and the Art of Writing Poetry

PLACERVILLE, Calif., July 16, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Rosemary Wilkinson is leading a crusade to resurrect the long lost art of poetry writing. She has traveled to different parts of the world spearheading this noble cause together with countless groups of poets across the globe through their annual gathering called World Congress of Poets.

Wilkinson is relentless in her quest, as is evidenced by her latest collection of poems Sing in the Wind With Love (now available through 1stBooks). Wilkinson offers a travelogue inside the multi-faceted world of poets, their remarkable cultures and their lyrical thoughts about humanity. Wilkinson also invites the readers to feel the gift of God as she shares her memorable poems like "Being Human" and "Human Rights."

"Being Human" is an upbeat poem that resounds the glorious celebration of life and the gift of nature. "Human Rights," on the other hand, has a distinctly somber tone. It is a melancholic reflection of the rampant violence and disorder happening around the world. She writes, "There are nations who with tyranny rule:/The people are silent, they are not free,/ Other nations are used as a tool/ While the world stands in watch for all to see."

Sing in the Wind With Love is the 21st book of poetry for Wilkinson who has also published a historical book and a novel about a 19th century painter called Epic of the Ship's Captain/Artist. Many of her literary works have been translated. Indeed, her poetry can be read in 37 languages including Mandarin, Spanish, Sanskrit, Romanian, Greek, Mongolian, Russian, Hebrew, French, Arabic, Hindu, Bengali, Korean and Japanese.

Sing in the Wind With Love also highlights the 21 times Wilkinson has attended the World Congress of Poets. She has been actively participating in the prestigious congregation since 1973 while serving as president from 1994 until 2003.

Wilkinson is currently writing her autobiography, Poet: Uplift Mankind. Wilkinson's spectacular literary career began at a young age. She wrote her first short story when she was in the third grade and composed her first poem at age 14.
