AND Appointed Star Partner in Partner Program of BEA Systems

AND is using the BEA WebLogic Enterprise Platform as a foundation for their Web Services-driven solution GeoAccess. The BEA WebLogic Enterprise Platform is designed to allow a simple integration of the service into existing applications by making it completely accessible through XML and Web Services.

"Partnership in the BEA Star Partner Program is a key element in the introduction of GeoAccess, our recently launched Web Service," said AND's CEO Maarten Oldenhof. "In the near future we will offer WebLogic Workshop 8.1 Java controls for GeoAccess, making it even easier for BEA's worldwide developer community to integrate our geointelligence with enterprise workflow on the industry leading BEA WebLogic Enterprise Platform."

GeoAccess solves many of the problems of traditional Geographic Information System (GIS) solutions, by providing developers, via a programmable XML interface, a fast and easy way to use AND Group location, routing, mapping and address management technologies.

Cost-effectively integrating general functions such as accurate kilometer registration and validation will realise substantial savings for any enterprise, whether integrated in a leading CRM suite or as a browser-based service. Extended-enterprises benefit in terms of increased productivity and quality of service from field service and sales teams using optimised routes and enhanced maps. Contact-centers can implement browser-based self-registration knowing the input addresses will be 100 percent accurate. By offering GeoAccess as a Web Service based on BEA WebLogic Enterprise Platform customers can obtain a route description along with a map of the route simply by sending a Web Services request with a departure location and an arrival location.

BEA has taken great care to provide the essential building blocks to create a mutually successful relationship, and to give partners the flexibility they need to grow their business. The goal is to drive long-term relationships by providing deeper benefits to those partners that advance through the program by meeting certain performance criteria.

"We're pleased to see AND as one of our Star Partners," said Robert Brusse, general manager of BEA Systems in the Netherlands. "Just about every business activity includes some geographic-related decision, and its clear that making a Web Service available that supports those decisions will spark the imagination of many developers using BEA WebLogic Workshop and can realise value for many of our enterprise customers."
