Forrorrois: Innocence Lost -- The Futuristic Story of an Ordinary Teenage Girl with Extraordinary Powers

SKANEATELES, N.Y., July 18, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Danica Jolan, 17, struggles with the usual teenage issues: hypersensitive emotions, trust issues, feeling out of place in her body, not to mention the fact that she's been snatched from Earth by a cruel race and turned into a super soldier.

In Forrorrois: Innocence Lost (now available through 1stBooks Library), Suzanne Y. Snow brings readers a science fiction love story for a generation raised on girl power. It all begins when Danica is snatched from planet Earth by the cruel Utahar. In a series of experiments, they modify her mind and body, turning her into a lethal weapon with enhanced reflexes, strength, memory capacity and the ability to shrink herself down to a minute fraction of her original mass.

When she is rescued by the Dramudam, who act as galactic peacekeepers, Danica must decide whether to train with the Dramudam or go to a rehabilitation station. Earth is a nonspacefaring world and returning to it would contaminate its natural technological progress. Danica decides to undergo training with the Dramudam out of a sense of duty, but she secretly longs to return home. The Utahar aren't giving up on finding their prize experiment. They'll do anything to secure Danica's return. Meanwhile, Danica realizes that Subcommander Trager, with whom she's been training for two years, is in love with her. She feels the same way, but it's forbidden by law for members of the Dramudam to have romantic relationships.

Forrorrois is a window into the mind of a teenage girl as she becomes a woman while discovering who she is and what she can become. It's a story of female empowerment at a time when young women everywhere need a heroine.

Snow has a bachelor's degree in physics and a master's degree in secondary education. She has worked as an engineer, teacher and science technician and practices Judo and Iaido. Snow experienced living and working in isolation when she was stationed in Antarctica. It was there she began writing Forrorrois: Innocence Lost, her first book.
