TIM Perú chooses Nokia as the main provider for its GSM network expansion


TIM Perú has selected Nokia as the principal supplier for the expansion of its GSM network.  The expansion includes the implementation of new switching equipment, base station controllers, Nokia NetAct(TM) Traffica and other equipment to extend TIM Perú's GSM service.
 
Nokia has been a significant supplier of infrastructure as well as extensive services support to TIM Perú since 2001.
 
According to the terms of this new contract, Nokia will provide its GSM core network platform, giving TIM Perú the latest technology for GSM, the world's most popular digital standard for mobile telephony, with more than 800 million users globally. 
 
Nokia will continue to help TIM Perú to deploy, integrate and optimize the complete network solution to achieve targeted Quality of Service levels.  In addition, Nokia's care services will help TIM Perú to maintain network availability and improve day-to-day procedures as well as enhance network performance.
