Nokia to expand Jiangxi MCC's GSM network in China in deal worth over 65 million USD


Chinese operator Jiangxi MCC has concluded an agreement with Nokia for the expansion of its GSM network.  The deal, valued at over 65 million USD, covers a full range of Nokia network equipment to meet expected increases in demand for mobile voice capacity and improved SMS text messaging service. 
 
Under the agreement, Nokia will supply its core and radio-access network infrastructure, a Nokia Short Message Service Center, the Nokia NetAct(TM) network and service management system.  Also included are implementation, radio network planning and optimization, and care services including software maintenance. 
 
Deliveries have already begun with the aim of bringing the new capacity into use as soon as possible.

Jiangxi MCC is a subsidiary of China Mobile (CMCC), the largest GSM operator in the world.  Jiangxi MCC has a dominant market position in Jiangxi province with several million subscribers.
