Akiva Releases ChatSpace Basic; Leading Chat Tool on the Market Now at Lowest Price

CARLSBAD, Calif., August 27, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Today Akiva(tm) released ChatSpace(r) Basic -- a new version of its market leading online community building tool. ChatSpace Basic provides companies and individuals with ChatSpace's world-class chat room technology at a much lower price than ever before by limiting the functionality to chat room technology only.

"ChatSpace Basic allows customers that only require chat room technology to pay just for what they need and still get the best chat room tool on the market," said Eric Olinger, CEO for Akiva. "Some companies and individuals don't require the wide array of functionality provided in our high-end community building tool: ChatSpace Community Server. In the past they have had to purchase lower-end chat room building tools in order to stay within their budgets. Now we can make ChatSpace's chat room functionality available to a broader market."

In addition to chat room functionality, ChatSpace Basic also supports "Person to Person" (or whisper) chat. Licensing for ChatSpace Basic is also geared towards smaller budgets: unlimited users on a single server. Multiple servers can be clustered together into a single chat site by purchasing an additional license for each server.

ChatSpace Basic is available for Microsoft Windows Server platforms. ChatSpace Basic is priced at $1,495 but is being offered at $995 through the month of August. To find out more go to www.akiva.com.
