Northrop Grumman Receives U.S. Air Force Engineering Services, Spares Contract


BALTIMORE, Sept. 3, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Northrop Grumman Corporation's (NYSE:NOC) Electronic Systems sector has been awarded an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity (ID/IQ) contract with a potential value of $707 million from the Warner Robins Air Logistics Center at Robins Air Force Base, Ga., to provide spare parts, repairs and associated engineering services for a variety of Northrop Grumman products and services currently being provided to the U.S. Air Force.

The initial delivery orders to be executed under the 10-year ID/IQ contract are anticipated to be valued at approximately $34 million.

"This innovative spares and support contract, developed in concert with officials from the Warner Robbins Air Logistics Center, will enable us to significantly improve the turnaround time for critical parts, repairs and engineering services determined to be sole source to Northrop Grumman," said John L. Messmore, vice president and general manager of Northrop Grumman's Logistics Services Division. "By successfully combining a long-term contract period, prenegotiated multiyear pricing, and multiple spares and repair contracts under a single contract vehicle, the end result will be a much more efficient and cost-effective logistics services and support capability for the Air Force."

Northrop Grumman will provide spares, repairs and related engineering support for its unique family of electronic sensors and systems -- ranging from major repairable end-items such as radar and electronic countermeasures systems to subassemblies such as antennas or circuit cards -- across various Federal Supply Classes. This includes components and other parts initially priced under the contract as well as future items that will be added to the contract on an ongoing basis over the 10-year period.
