DNO: August production of 24,307 barrels per day

Oil production for the individual geographical units for August and the average for the period January to August was as follows (barrels per day):

August
Jan  - Aug

UK
7,991
8,938
NORWAY
5,005
5,985
YEMEN
11,311
13,005

IN ALL
24,307
27,928

The decline in production from the UK is mainly due to some of the Thistle field wells being shut down because of a defect on a gas compressor used for gas lift in wells. The gas compressor is scheduled to be back in operation by the end of September.

Production from the Norwegian shelf declined slightly from July because of a production shutdown at the Glitne field in connection with the hookup of a new production well at the field. The new well is now onstream, but so far, no well production data are available.

The decline in production from Yemen as compared with July does not relate to any specific events, but is according to the expected development in production from the company's interests in the Tasour and Sharyoof fields. The well drilled in the new structure in block 53 did not discover any commercial hydrocarbons, and the drilling rig will now be moved back to the Taour area to drill a new well in connection with the new oil discovery west of the main field.
