Feintool Automation displays innovations at Motek in Sinsheim

In the current slack business environment, industry is redoubling its efforts to improve the efficiency of manufacturing processes and raise the level of automation. However, this is also increasing the demands on modern automation technology. Customers are demanding cost-efficient, flexible solutions and the shortest possible delivery times. With its interesting innovations, Feintool Automation will be offering ideal solutions at Motek.

Modutec - an innovative linear automation system

As a turnkey system for the final user and a complete modular system for equipment producers and OEMs in assembly automation, modutec offers considerable cost advantages. The ultra-flexible, modular platform sets totally new standards in station extendibility and reusability. The standardized process modules can be changed in less than 15 minutes. Now it is not only possible to convert a complete system in a matter of minutes, retooling times can also be substantially reduced thanks to completely autonomous process modules with integrated indexing. A particular highlight is Feintool's newly developed high-speed workpiece pallet feed system, whose changeover times of less than one second (depending on size) will reduce linear transfer systems' cycle times enormously. The end-to-end flexibility and unrestricted extendibility of the entire system, from the mechanical base unit to the process modules, and from the casing to the control concept, increase the efficiency of both semi-automated small-output systems and fully automated mass-production systems.

New cost-effective version of the clictec rotary indexing system

Clictec, Feintool's successful rotary indexing system for the automated assembly of small and ultra-small parts at high cycle rates, has been joined by a cost-effective alternative system for producing small assemblies at a medium cycle rate. The control cabinets for the electrical, electronic and pneumatic systems have been given a striking new design that also complies with the latest safety standards. The cabinets have also been integrated into the main chassis in a way that saves space without impairing accessibility. A central synchro servo drives the ultra-precise indexing table and its Geneva drive, the cam-controlled pick-and-place function units and the synchronous movements of the turntable. Designed for 6 or 8 assembly stations with 12 or 16 turntable compartments, the new system combines the familiar advantages of flexibility and cost-efficiency offered by the clictec system with completely new opportunities to achieve a higher return on investment in both new and existing customer segments.
