Heijmans N.V. to sell building materials trading business to Raab Karcher Bouwstoffen B.V.

Heijmans acquired the shares in HBS Den Bosch in 1975 in order to gain understanding of the trade in building materials. In the context of its increasingly defined strategic focus, Heijmans had already deconsolidated the activities of HBS Den Bosch in 1999. Therefore it has now been decided to sell these activities to Raab Karcher.

HBS Den Bosch trades in ceramic products (stones, roof tiles) and finishing materials (kitchens, bathrooms) and employs 25 people. HBS Den Bosch realizes a turnover of approximately EUR 12 million with limited positive profitability. The acquisition will not involve any redundancies.
With a turnover of EUR 500 million, Raab Karcher is market leader in the Netherlands in the professional distribution of building materials. Its acquisition of HBS Den Bosch will further strengthen this position.
