Borrowing requirement in line with forecast in November

The primary borrowing requirement (all government payments except interest payments) was SEK 100 million, which is 1.1 billion less than expected. The main reason for this is that payments from state authorities were smaller than anticipated. Smaller tax payments and larger central government net lending worked in the opposite direction. Central government interest payments were basically in line with the forecast.

For the twelve-month period ending November 30, the borrowing requirement amounted to SEK 60.8 billion. The central government debt amounted to SEK 1229 billion at the end of November 2003.

The outcome of central government borrowing requirement for December and for the entire 2003 will be published on January 12, 2004, at 9.30 a.m.[1] A revised forecast for 2004 will be published on February 25, 2004, at 9.30 a.m.
