Harsco Corporation Honored for Having One of Nation's Best Investor Relations Programs


HARRISBURG, Pa., April 5, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Worldwide industrial services and products company Harsco Corporation (NYSE:HSC) announced today that its investor relations (IR) program has been named one of the best in the United States in the small market capitalization category (under $2.5 billion), and Eugene Truett, the company's Director of Investor Relations, Credit and Specialized Finance, has been named for the second year in a row as one of the country's top investor relations officers in the same category.

The awards, presented by Investor Relations magazine in ceremonies held recently in New York City, are recognized as one of the leading measures of outstanding performance in the IR field. The results were determined by independent research conducted by the magazine among approximately 2,000 portfolio managers and analysts covering the United States.

Harsco Chairman and CEO Derek C. Hathaway, said, "These awards are a tribute to our concerted efforts to communicate transparently and effectively to the financial markets, and more particularly to Gene Truett for having again earned the recognition and respect of his peer professionals."

Mr. Truett has led Harsco's investor relations efforts since 1995. He is a graduate of the University of Baltimore and a member of both the National Investor Relations Institute and the Investor Relations Council of the Manufacturers Alliance/MAPI.
