Ping Identity and Innovent, an Entrepreneurial Innovation Unit of Nokia, Extend Federated Identity Collaboration

Denver, CO - April 6, 2004 - Ping Identity Corporation (www.pingidentity.com), a leading provider of federated identity management solutions, and Innovent, an entrepreneurial innovation unit of Nokia (NYSE: NOK), today announced a renewal of their agreement to collaborate in mapping the emerging market for federated identity and it implications for mobility.  As part of their 2003 collaboration, the two organizations today announced the immediate availability of a jointly developed whitepaper, "Scenarios of Federated Identity," that addresses the development of the federated identity marketplace.  The whitepaper is available for immediate download from the Ping Identity corporate website at www.pingidentity.com.

"Managing the identities of people and things as they move between domains is a fundamental component of an increasingly decentralized world," said Andre Durand, CEO of Ping Identity Corporation.  "On-demand computing, extended enterprise initiatives, new web services architectures, and a need to keep access simple and secure for end-users are all driving the implementation of standards-based identity infrastructures."

New identity standards such as those provided for through the Liberty Alliance, OASIS (SAML), and the Microsoft/IBM lead WS-Federation specification have given rise to a new dawn of identity interoperability.  Federated Identity Management provides organizations a means for reducing friction in all interactions, especially those that are increasingly cross-company, cross-boundary & cross-domain.

Stephanie Keller-Bottom, Director of Innovent, added, "The marketplace for federated identity is developing more rapidly than was originally expected.  Through our collaboration with Ping Identity, Innovent has gained insight into the emerging models and business implications associated with federated identity management.  Our renewal of the collaboration agreement with Ping Identity Corporation is reflective of both the value that they bring to Innovent and the extensive experience, network and resources that Innovent brings to Ping."
