Oklahoma Storm Signs Shawn Kemp

MILFORD, Conn., April 12, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- The United States Basketball League, Inc. (USBL) (OTCBB:USBL) in conjunction with the Oklahoma Storm have announced the signing of Former NBA All-Star Shawn Kemp for the 2004 USBL Season.

Kemp was a six-time NBA All-Star and a member of Dream Team II that won the gold medal at the 1994 World Championships in Toronto. Kemp, a 14-year NBA veteran, played with the Orlando Magic last season. Kemp's NBA career included stops in Seattle, Cleveland, Portland and Orlando. Kemp, 34, averaged 14.6 points and 8.4 rebounds a game during the regular season.

"This commitment from Shawn speaks for itself," said Storm general manager Tom Nelson. "He wants to be actively involved with the team, and you can't get more active than this. Not too many USBL teams have ever had a six-time NBA All-Star on the court."

"This is quite the signing coup for the Oklahoma Storm and the USBL. Shawn is a household name and will provide some excitement this season for the USBL fans," stated USBL Founder and Commissioner Daniel T. Meisenheimer III.
