American Scientific Resources Appoints Dr. Christopher F. Tirotta to Its Board of Directors

Renowned Cardiovascular Physician and Founder of Kidz-Med Brings His Expertise to Company


NEW PALTZ, N.Y., April 15, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- American Scientific Resources, Inc. (Pink Sheets:ASRO) today announced it has appointed Dr. Christopher F. Tirotta to the company's Board of Directors. Dr. Tirotta is the Director of Cardiovascular Anesthesiology of the Congenital Heart Institute of Miami Children's Hospital and Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children and Women. He is also a Clinical Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at the University of Miami School of Medicine.

Besides his clinical duties, he was the Chief Financial Officer of Children's Anesthesia Associates, PA, and the de facto managing business partner of this entity for over ten years. Moreover, Dr. Tirotta was one of the driving forces behind the formation of a 46 physician, multi-specialty group practice at Miami Children's Hospital, called Children's Medical Group.

Dr. Tirotta originally founded KiDz-Med, Inc. in 1993. The charter of the original company was to create and sell educational books and videos to children on various health-related matters. Dr. Tirotta created and produced the widely acclaimed pre-operative educational video titled, "A Hospital Trip With Dr. Bip".

Dr. Tirotta received his BA in biochemistry from Cornell University in 1982 and his MD from New York University School of Medicine in 1986. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine at SUNY at Stony Brook in 1987 and his residency in Anesthesiology at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center in 1990; he sub-specialized in pediatric and cardiovascular anesthesia. He received his MBA from Columbia University in 1999.
