The sale of the Kemira-owned Ecocat Oy, which engages in the production of catalytic converters, to the funds managed by the Finnish company Eqvitec Partners Oy, has been finalized on 30 April 2004. In accordance with its strategy the Kemira Group will focus on developing its core business areas, which do not include the catalyst business in question. The parties to the agreement have decided on not disclosing the agreement price.
Ecocat's net sales totalled EUR 46.5 million in the year 2003. The company employs a personnel of 210 employees globally.
