Advisory Committee Appointments Announced at Montana Oil and Gas


VANCOUVER, B.C., July 22, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Peter Sanders, Montana Oil and Gas's (Pink Sheets:MOGI) President, announces the following appointments to the Company's Advisory Committee effective immediately -- these appointments are in keeping with the Corporate Mission Statement or Objectives to have in-house expertise in all aspects of not only petroleum exploration and development, but also senior market and financial sponsorship:

John D. Briner, Corporate and Securities Attorney, has been appointed to the Company's Advisory Committee. John practices securities law in Vancouver, specializing in cross-border transactions. John has represented numerous clients in a variety of industries, and has represented several natural resource companies listed on both Canadian and U.S. exchanges. John has been invited to speak at numerous conferences around the world, and has recently presented lectures in Taipei and Helsinki on the securities and natural resources industries in Canada. John's role will be to advise the Company on various legal developments in the securities and natural resources industries that may have direct bearing on the Company and its business objectives.

Paul Watson, Professional Petroleum Geologist, has been appointed to Montana's Advisory Committee. Paul brings extensive experience to Montana as he has been in exploration, development and finance of oil and gas projects over the last 30 years with North American and International experience. Paul has participated in over $150 million in financings, has been responsible for drilling over 500 wells and has discovered over 42 million barrels oil equivalent. Paul is located in Calgary, Alberta and is a principal shareholder in Energy 51 as well as being an active member of A.P.E.G.G.A.; C.S.P.G.; and A.S.P.G. Paul's primary responsibility will be to recommend specific oil and gas projects that comply with Montana's objectives for early sustainable revenues of a low-risk category and acceptable overriding interests.

Randy Buchanan, Petroleum Geologist and Geophysicist with over 30 years' experience has also agreed to an appointment to Montana's Advisory Committee. Randy is also a principal shareholder and the President of Energy 51 and is located in Calgary, Alberta. Randy has held executive positions with seven successful and well-known oil and gas exploration companies during this time, managed funds for CMP group of Funds as a Director and Vice President, and was a supervisor for Gulf Oil. Randy's primary responsibility will be to administer and develop all of Montana's oil and gas joint venture interests.
