Dobson Communications Announces Executive Changes


OKLAHOMA CITY, Aug. 23, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Dobson Communications Corporation (Nasdaq:DCEL) today announced that Doug Stephens has stepped down from his role as chief operating officer and will serve as senior vice president for Regulatory Affairs and Market Transition. The Company is launching a senior executive search and, in the interim, Everett Dobson will assume the COO role. Mr. Dobson currently serves as chairman, chief executive officer and president.

In his new role, Mr. Stephens will represent the Company in state ETC proceedings and other regulatory matters, including coordination of compliance with Federal mandates. He will also lead the Dobson team in charge of integrating Company operations with current and future market transitions, as well as consulting with Mr. Dobson on operating issues.
