STOCK COMMENTARY:
US stocks finished to end the week essentially flat. Although the tech-heavy Nasdaq had a boost upwards to finish Friday's session, mostly back-and-forth performance could be witnessed across most sectors. Fed Chairman Alan Greenspan's comments moved the markets, combined with the continued war in Iraq.
The upcoming week of trading starts surrounded by doubt. North Korea's instability, the first full week of trading since the end of summer, and money on the sidelines ready to pour in, all give equity-traders a good deal to ponder.
Technical traders consider US equities as overbought. And, U.S. stocks could be, by and large, down over the next five days. Regardless of that, we see any near-term weakness as a buying opportunity. Outstanding financial data last week portend gains for stocks in general over the medium-term.
