GAINESVILLE, Fla., Dec. 7, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- The Mammatech Corporation's stock market symbol has changed from MAMH to MAMM (OTCBB:MAMM) The new symbol was assigned in connection with the company's recently announced reverse split. Mammatech is also traded on German stock exchanges in Berlin and Bremen.

Today, a comprehensive story in The New Yorker critically reviewed the state of breast cancer screening technologies. The report examined the failures of mammography and stated that "a skilled pair of fingertips can find out an extraordinary amount about the health of a breast." The report discussed manual breast examination and quoted Dr. Mark Goldstein of Mammatech who said, "There is nothing in science or technology that has even come close to the sensitivity of the human finger with respect to the range of stimuli it can pick up. It's a brilliant instrument."

MammaCare teaches fingers what to feel for using tactually accurate breast models and the principles of psychophysics.(1) "Most breast tumors are first discovered by hand according to published studies," Mammatech researcher H.S. Pennypacker, Ph.D. pointed out. "The data continue to confirm that the first line of defense is tactile skill," he added.

(1) The MammaCare program was developed by Mammatech scientists under grants from the National Cancer Institute.
