STOCKHOLD, Sweden, Dec. 16, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- EBP in Olofstrom AB (EBP), part of the Hexagon Group, has started a co-operation with Honda Europe NV. EBP has been chosen as the preferred supplier for the production of original body panels for Honda cars that are no longer manufactured.
The agreement will initially cover an order, valued at around SEK 30 million over three years, for body panels for an older Honda Accord model. Discussions have also started about further business over the coming years. EBP will start working on the first parts immediately.
The deal is the result of the significant expansion plan currently underway at EBP. The investment will mean that EBP will be one of Europe's most competitive and complete suppliers of body panels to the auto industry's aftermarket in 2005.
EBP has a unique holistic concept that solves car manufacturers' problems in producing aftermarket body panels. The process is in four stages: stamping at Europe's most modern production line press, flexible robotic assembly, surface treating in a sealed, environmentally-sound system and finally unit packaging in original boxes with bar-codes.
