TalkingStocks.com Issues an Updated Profile Report on Markland Technologies Covering Latest $2.6 Million Award

DALLAS, Jan. 11, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- TalkingStocks.com has issued an updated profile report on Markland Technologies (OTCBB: MRKL), a producer of next-generation defense and security technologies. The report is authored by Senior Investment Analyst, Jeff Bishop. The new report updates investors on the implications of Markland's latest $2.6 million award from the U.S. Army's Night Vision and Electronic Sensors Directorate (NVESD). This award is the latest installment of an ongoing five year omnibus contract which may provide a maximum ceiling amount of up to $80 million in fiscal year revenues for Markland and over $406 million in revenues over its life. Since July of 2004, Markland has realized over $27 million in sales from this deal.

In the report Mr. Bishop writes, "Since the acquisition of EOIR was completed in June of 2004, this business segment has grown at an annualized rate exceeding 50%. This acquisition has helped the Company realize record revenues. It has strengthened its balance sheet as well helping Markland accrue over $6 million in cash during the last reporting period. This amount may not appear to be large at first glance, but for a growing technology firm, it is very significant. It also represents nearly 15% of the firm's market value just in cash."

He goes on to describe three technology areas that provide revenue from the NVSED contract; 1) Stand-off detection, 2) Suicide Bomber Detection Protocol, and 3) Safety Evaluation Range Training Systems (SERTS).
