Nokia Expands Family of Network Security Platforms with Introduction of IP260 and IP265

New Offerings Provide Value and Resilient Performance for Small Enterprises and Branch Offices

NEW YORK, February 1, 2005 - Nokia (NYSE:NOK) today announced the expansion of its family of network security platforms with the addition of Nokia IP260 and Nokia IP265. The two new security platforms are designed to address the low-cost needs of small enterprises and remote or branch offices and their future growth requirements.  The Nokia IP260 and Nokia IP265 provide improved return on investment by offering the features of larger Nokia systems in a small, compact, half-width 1RU rack mounted platform.  The new offerings combine competitive pricing, performance and management capabilities to deliver some of the most robust and reliable security platforms on the market today.

The disk-based Nokia IP260 and the diskless Nokia IP265 introduce new capabilities and higher levels of performance with 512MB of available RAM and an on-board encryption chip to accelerate encrypted traffic.  The new security platforms are designed for small to mid-sized enterprises and remote or satellite offices that need a low-cost, complete Nokia IPSO platform that delivers robust firewall and VPN performance.  The half-width 1RU size enables customers to rack-mount these units side by side, reducing the space needed to deploy a Nokia IPSO clustered or Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRP) High Availability solution.

"The Nokia IP260 has given us the connectivity infrastructure our organization requires. Our needs demand a security platform that provides strong features, reliability and support services," said Douglas Parrella, network security engineer, of Parkway Corporation, a parking services and real estate company headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. "Nokia's newest security platform meets our needs cost effectively, while capitalizing on the market-leading security features and product reliability we expect."

Nokia IP260 and Nokia IP265 are "Secured by Check Point" security platforms with pre-installed Check Point  Express(TM) as well as Check Point VPN-1 software with SecureXL® 2.1 from Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: CHKP).  Ideal for the smaller and mid-size enterprises, Check Point Express® software provides companies with end-to-end security, connectivity, and management for up to 500 users and multiple branch offices. The platforms are tightly integrated with Nokia's newest IPSO(TM) 3.8.1 secure operating system. Working together, Nokia and Check Point have ensured that the Nokia IP260 and IP265 are meeting the stringent global enterprise security requirements demanded of today's IT environment.

"Nokia is continuing to meet the business-critical needs our enterprise customers seek.  The Nokia IP260 and IP265 provide the performance needed to effectively handle the requirements of a small enterprise at a low cost," said Elie Habib, senior vice president, Security and Mobile Connectivity, Nokia Enterprise Solutions. "These two new offerings complement our portfolio of network security appliances and capitalize on our vision of providing powerful, high quality offerings at one of the most reasonable price points in the market."

"The Nokia IP260 and IP265 deployed with Check Point Express software provide a robust, worry-free, end-to-end security solution to small and medium-size enterprises that may have limited security resources," said Paul Weinstein, vice president of business development, Check Point Software Technologies. "By including the highest levels of access control, integrated attack protection, VPN connectivity, and powerful centralized management, all on the trusted Nokia platform, these appliances offer an ideal price performance for this market segment."

Nokia IP260 and IP265 expand the lower-end of the performance range of Nokia's industry-leading IP security platform portfolio. The Nokia family of IP security platforms now encompasses twelve product offerings, extending from small home offices to the world's largest enterprises.  The new offerings also complement the company's existing mobility offerings, including Nokia SSL VPN and Nokia IP VPN connectivity solutions.
