The holding managed by Capital Research and Management Company on December 31, 2004 was 6,400,000 Metso shares. This holding amounts to 4.7 percent of the paid up share capital and the total votes of Metso Corporation after being, on the basis of their previous announcement on April 17, 2002, 6.29 percent of the paid up share capital and 4.97 percent of the total votes.
