ATA Cockpit Crewmembers Approve Extension of Short-Term Concessions

INDIANAPOLIS, June 3, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Cockpit crewmembers for ATA Airlines, subsidiary of ATA Holdings Corp. (ATAHQ), today informed the Company that they have ratified an agreement to extend short-term pay and work rule concessions. The concessions will save the Company approximately $10 million over the next four months. The concession package included an 18 percent cut in pay over the next 120 days for cockpit crewmembers, which includes pilots and flight engineers.

Voting concluded today with 52.67 percent voting in favor of the package. The Air Line Pilots Association ("ALPA"), the union representing ATA's cockpit crewmembers, indicated that 76.8 percent of the eligible ALPA members voted.

"We're extremely pleased that a majority of ATA's cockpit crewmembers support the Company's reorganization efforts. The sacrifice of ATA's 871 ALPA members is appreciated by ATA's management team and our thousands of employees who have also been making similar sacrifices over the past years," said John Denison, ATA Airlines' CEO.

ATA intends to seek long-term agreements on pay rates and work rules with ALPA and other work groups as a part of its plan of reorganization.
