Metso To Supply a Fine Paper Line to Indonesia


HELSINKI, Finland, July 11, 2005 (PRIMEZONE) -- Metso Paper will supply a large production line for fine paper in Kerinci, Sumatra in Indonesia. Engineering Resources, Ltd., ordered the line, and it will be operated by an associate company of April Group. The annual capacity of the production line is 415,000 tons, and the start-up is scheduled for the second half of 2006. The customer has requested that the value of the order is not disclosed. The order was booked for the second quarter of 2005.

The delivery will include an OptiConcept paper making line equipped with a machine control system supplied by Metso Automation. The paper machine delivery will comprise a headbox, cap former, OptiPress press section, dryer section, size press, soft calender, reel, and various auxiliary equipment. In addition, the delivery also includes equipment for stock preparation and paper finishing.

The line will produce uncoated woodfree fine paper in a basis weight range of 50 to 120 g/m2. The machine will have a production speed of 1600 m/min and a trim width at reel of 8.6 m.
