Fortis General Secretariat to undergo organizational and management changes


At its meeting of 22 November 2005, the Fortis Board agreed to relieve Michel van Pée of his responsibilities as Fortis General Secretary. Michel van Pée will continue as Counsel to the Chairman, assisting Maurice Lippens in his duties as Chairman of Fortis and as Chairman of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee. 
 
Michel van Pée has been with the group since 1966 (Groupe AG) and has held a number of senior executive positions in the fields of investment, finance, human resources, IT and the strategic development of Groupe AG. When Fortis was established in 1990 he became a member of the Fortis Executive Board. Since 1998, he has been responsible for the General Secretariat of Fortis.
 
The CEO, in consultation with the Chairman, will propose to the Fortis Board the appointment of Ingrid Loos as Fortis Company Secretary as from 1 January 2006. She will report to the CEO.
 
Ingrid Loos (44) has been with Fortis since 1985 (Generale Bank). She joined the Corporate Banking department of ASLK/CGER-Bank in 1987 and became Secretary of the Fortis Executive Board and the Fortis Supervisory Board in 1997 (until 1999). From 2000 to 2005, she was Senior Project Leader in the fields of Risk Management, Strategy and Audit. In April 2005 she was appointed Director of Corporate Governance.  Ingrid holds a Master's in Applied Economics (UFSIA, Belgium-1983), an M.A. in Economics (KUL, Belgium-1984) and a Master's in Change Management (Sioo, Netherlands-2004).
