Lindab posts record profit

Lindab AB reports that its turnover for 2005 reached SEK 6,214 million, achieving a record profit (EBITA) of SEK 560 million. This constitutes a 46 percent increase compared to 2004.

"The past year has seen some big changes for Lindab. In particular, we have seen a very good result, which can be explained by a positive building trend towards the end of the year and from focussing internally on continually improved profitability, " says CEO, Kjell Åkesson.

"The highlight of the year was the acquisition of Astron Buildings S.A., Europe's leading prefabricated steel construction company. Formerly a competitor, now a valued colleague, giving us the leading edge within this segment throughout Europe," says Kjell.

"In particular, the Nordic, Eastern and Central European markets continue to be strong. Increased centralisation and production efficiency, particularly within the Ventilation business area, contributed to the good result as planned during the last quarter." concludes Kjell Åkesson.
