DNO ASA (DNO.NO) is pleased to announce that the Godah # 1 side-track well in Block 32 in Yemen tested 1.839 bopd (gross).

As  reported in DNO's stock exchange notice dated 31 January 2006, the original Godah # 1 exploration well was drilled at a separate structure ca. 14 km east of the Tasour Field. The main target was the Qishn S1A sandstone and the well confirmed the presence of oil and gas in the Qishn reservoir.
 
The well has now been side-tracked down-dip of the original location with the objective to penetrate a full oil bearing Qishn S1A section. The side-track of Godah # 1 was drilled to TD of 1.841m on 8 February 2006. The well was then logged and tested. The logs proved a full oil column in the S1A sand. The test provided an oil rate of 1.839 bopd (gross) on natural flow, with nil water-cut and a GOR of 2.412 scf/bbl. The relative high GOR is likely explained by influx of free gas from the gas zone proven in the original well path of Godah # 1.
 
The license partners have now agreed to drill an appraisal well on the Godah structure. The well Godah # 2 will be drilled further down flank of the Godah # 1 side-track location to evaluate the area extension of the oil accumulation and possible prove the oil-water contact.
 
Production from the Godah structure can be tied back to the Tasour production facilities for processing and export.
