Jaakko Pöyry Group awarded EUR 7.3 million power plant engineering contract in Italy


Electrowatt-Ekono SPE Srl, which is part of the Jaakko Pöyry Group's Energy business group, has been awarded an owners engineering contract by Rizziconi Energia, a subsidiary of the Swiss EGL Group. The contract value is EUR 7.3 million and the services shall be provided by end of 2008.

The contract comprises owners engineering and other services for EGL's 800 MW combined cycle power plant at Rizziconi in Calabria, southern Italy. Electrowatt-Ekono SPE Srl is currently performing owners engineering services also for EGL's 800 MW combined cycle power plant in the region of Campania, Italy.

Electrowatt-Ekono SPE Srl is the most recent acquisition to the Jaakko Pöyry Group's Energy business group and covers its activities in Italy.

The Energy business group, operating under the brand name Electrowatt-Ekono, had net sales of EUR 160 million in 2005. Electrowatt-Ekono has offices in 23 countries and employs 1500 experts worldwide.
