RSM Erasmus University MBA Info Sessions in Tokyo, Beijing and Bangkok

ROTTERDAM, The Netherlands, Feb. 28, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- RSM Erasmus University is returning to Asia for a whirlwind series of Information Sessions, Master Classes, and Career Workshops in February and March. One of Europe's top business schools, and highly ranked internationally, RSM is no stranger to the region, having been here in autumn 2005 to recruit students for the Triple Accredited full-time MBA programme. Potential students in the region now have the opportunity to find out more about the school first-hand from its Director of MBA Programmes, Dianne Bevelander. "Asia is a very important market for RSM," she stated "We always get candidates of an extremely high quality from all over Asia. Of course they are keen to join a school with an international reputation, like RSM, but I think it is more the intangibles which make RSM so popular".

The importance that RSM places on the Asian market is clear: the Dean of Post Experience programmes, Dr Mike Page, is in Taipei on 25 February and in Seoul on 28 February to run a Master Class in Finance. He noted, "RSM is located right in the heart of Europe, in one of its most accessible cities: Rotterdam is a short step away from many of Europe's most intriguing cities and from the international financial and business centres of Amsterdam, London and Paris. Students at RSM know they are getting a top-quality MBA education with us, but more than that, they know we have excellent links to recruiters in Europe. Our programmes are taught entirely in English, and it's also completely possible to live and study in the Netherlands speaking only English; although Dutch is the native language, almost 90% of Dutch people -- and certainly all of those under 40 years old -- all speak native-level English. With over 160 nationalities living in Rotterdam alone, our international student body instantly feels at home."

In Beijing, Tokyo and Bangkok, Ms. Bevelander will be joined by Director of the Career Management Centre, Ms. Femke Nel Braunius. RSM's CMC is the body responsible for forging strong links with employers and corporate recruiters throughout Europe and internationally; it advises and works with MBA students as soon as they are admitted to the programme and throughout their time with RSM to make sure they are as well prepared as possible for employment on graduation. "Around 55% of our international students stay in Europe immediately following graduation to work here," said Ms. Nel Braunius. "That is impressive, given that our full-time MBA class has around 35 nationalities on it this year, from countries as diverse as America, Italy and Taiwan. She will be giving presentations in Tokyo (2 March, 19.30-21.30 hrs), Beijing (4 March, 11.00-13.00 hrs) and Bangkok (7 March, 19.30-21.30 hrs) on "Differentiating Yourself."

RSM offers three ways to study for an MBA: full-time for 15 months, with a programme that starts in October each year and which offers students the possibility both to undertake an internship part-way through their programme to put their skills into practice; and the opportunity to undertake their final semester at one of our 30+ internationally-acclaimed partner schools worldwide. With a student body of approximately 100 annually, RSM's programme is diverse enough to encourage cross-cultural fertilisation and small enough to allow students to network with all their classmates, thus building strong and lasting professional networks. The average age on the full-time programme is currently 30 years old, and the average amount of work experience is 6 years, with 2 years being the absolute minimum.

Students who need to combine their work and studies can opt for the part-time Executive MBA, taught over alternate weekends in Rotterdam over 24 months, or the Global OneMBA, taught in conjunction with 4 other partner schools on 4 continents and taking 21 months to complete. Details on all RSM's MBA programmes can be found on their website at www.rsm.nl/mba
