The main range of Lanxess' products consists of colourants, fluorescent whitening agents and sizing agents. Another large part of the net sales comes from toll-manufactured products traded for the pulp and paper industry. The unit has production plants in Leverkusen, Germany and in Bushy Park, South Carolina, USA, and employs 375 persons globally. In 2004 its net sales were approx. 240 million euros.
After the Lanxess acquisition, Kemira will be the leading supplier of chemicals to the pulp and paper industry worldwide. Pulp & Paper Chemicals, being one of Kemira's four core business areas, will reach net sales of approx. 1.1 billion euros with a staff of 2 500.
