Daniel L. Berger Joins Pomerantz Haudek Block Grossman & Gross LLP


NEW YORK, Nov. 3, 2006 (PRIMEZONE) -- Pomerantz Haudek Block Grossman & Gross LLP is very pleased to announce that Daniel L. Berger has become a member of our firm. Mr. Berger brings nearly thirty years of active litigation experience, a significant portion of which took place while he was a partner at Bernstein, Litowitz, Berger & Grossmann LLP. While at that firm, Mr. Berger tried two 10b-5 securities class actions to jury verdicts, In re Datapoint Securities Litigation and ICN/Viratek Securities Litigation (among the very few securities class actions ever tried), and a class action state court appraisal action, In re Rainforest Cafes. He served as principal lead counsel in many other federal securities class actions that resulted in sizable recoveries, including In re Cendant Securities Litigation; In re Lucent Securities Litigation; In re Bristol Meyers Securities Litigation; In re OM Group Securities Litigation; In re Storage Tech Securities Litigation; In re Bolar Pharmaceutical Securities Litigation; In re Comptronix Securities Litigation; In re Computron Securities Litigation and In re Symbol Technologies Securities Litigation. Mr. Berger also successfully argued several important appeals, including In re Suprema Securities Litigation (3d Circuit) and McCall v. Scott (6th Circuit).

Mr. Berger is a graduate of Haverford College (BA 1976) and Columbia Law School (JD 1979, Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar), and spent four years as an Assistant Attorney General in the New York State Attorney General's Office, Civil Rights Bureau before entering private practice. He is a faculty member and frequent panelist for PLI programs and chairs its programs on Accountants' Liability. He also is a member of the Board of Managers of Columbia Law School, and an emeritus member of the Board of Managers of Haverford College.
