Charger Answers the Call for More Power for Today's Gadget Guy

ST. LOUIS, MO -- (MARKET WIRE) -- November 28, 2006 -- For the digital dad, gadget guy and high-tech
guru, Energizer, the No. 1 selling brand in rechargeable NiMH products, now
offers the new Energizer® Dock & Go™ Charger. The Dock & Go Charger
comes with two portable charging pods that each hold four AA or AAA
rechargeable (NiMH) batteries. It can charge up to eight batteries in
sequence or four in a pod while the other pod is in use. Plus, the pods
are small enough to slip into a pocket or briefcase and at just a few
ounces, lightweight as well.
The new product from Energizer -- already in stores nationwide -- comes at
just the right time to help families who are eager to record holiday events
on their digital cameras and men who receive digital devices throughout the
season. Since digital devices are known to drain conventional batteries
quickly, the Dock & Go Charger is the ideal gift for people enamored with
high-tech gadgets like digital cameras, MP3 players, GPS systems, etc.
For example, with a single set of Energizer® Rechargeable® 2500 mAh AA
batteries, consumers can take up to 325 pictures with a digital camera per
charge, more than four times as many as with leading ordinary alkaline AA
batteries*, and the batteries can be charged hundreds of times. The
result: many more family photos.
"There is no charger product like this on the market that offers battery
life and a real convenience for heavy battery-users who are trying to keep
all their digital devices powered up and ready to perform," said Jeff
Ziminski, Vice-President North American Marketing, Energizer.
The Dock & Go Charger comes with two pods, allowing people on the go to
carry as many as four batteries with them in one lightweight pod, while
another four batteries are charging at home or in a hotel room. The
Energizer® Dock & Go™ Charger typically takes 2.2 to 3.0 hours to
fully charge a set of rechargeable AA batteries depending on its capacity
and 2.5 to 3 hours to charge a set of AAA batteries. The charger unit has
space for both pods and charges them in sequence or one at a time. The
device also has a special LED charge indicator that changes between green,
red and yellow to show the progress of the charge and indicate when the
batteries are fully charged. Plus, users never have to worry about turning
the charger off -- once the pod/pods are fully charged, the Dock & Go
Charger automatically shuts off. The Dock & Go Charger is also equipped
with a safety mechanism that alerts the user when they place
non-rechargeable batteries in the pods.
The Energizer Dock & Go Charger (retailing at $33.99), comes with four
Energizer NiMH AA batteries which, like all such Energizer batteries, can
be recharged hundreds of times.
"The Dock & Go Charger -- given its compact size and convenience -- makes a
great gift for the holidays," Ziminski says. "It also makes sense to buy
one for yourself, so you can be sure to capture all your great holiday
moments."
