HOUSTON, TX -- (MARKET WIRE) -- December 1, 2006 -- Texas gas prices in most areas increased by about a penny over the past week, according to the AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch.
The current Texas statewide average price for self-serve regular gasoline is $2.124 a gallon, up by 1.6 cents in the last week.
"Just before Thanksgiving, wholesale gasoline prices significantly spiked without any apparent cause," said AAA Texas spokeswoman Rose Rougeau. "However, wholesale prices have eased since then without having much impact on motorists."
The national average for regular self-serve gasoline is $2.247 -- a weekly increase of 1.4 cents.
