Kinepolis Madrid presents tonight, January 17,  at 10 pm a digital special from the first episode of the popular television series "Heroes", in Spain broadcasted by the digital channel Sci-fi as from February 1.
A real scoop for Kinepolis Spain as it's the first time in Spain that a cinema presents this kind of alternative content. 1000 guests will attend the special digital preview in Kinepolis's famous auditorium nr. 25.

The Kinepolis Group belongs to the select group of cinemas in the world that can offer digital cinema featuring the revolutionary DLP technology. The group now has an extensive platform of digital projectors in Belgium, France and Spain.
Digital Cinema offers the very best in terms of image and sound in the cinema. In comparison with the traditional 35mm film, digital cinema offers outstanding picture quality, perfect subtitles and better colours. Digital technology also stands out in that it retains quality to a better standard over a longer period. The film is projected onto the screen using a computer server and a digital projector. It makes no difference whether the film is show once or thousands of times. The quality remains impeccable since there is no wear and tear as there is with the conventional 35 mm film.
This also opens up the possibility of offering more alternative content in digital format, alongside digital Hollywood productions, such as prestigious events, television series previews, live concerts, lives sporting competitions and a host of applications for companies, universities and the medical sector.

"Heroes" is an American drama television series, which premiered on NBC on September 25, 2006. It tells the story of several people who "thought they were like everyone else... until they woke with incredible abilities" such as telepathy, time travel and flight. They soon realize they have a role in preventing a catastrophe and saving mankind.

When the series premiered in the United States, it was the night's most-watched program among adults 18-49, attracting 14.3 million viewers overall and receiving the highest rating for any NBC drama premiere in five years. "Heroes" was nominated for two Golden Globe Awards: Best Television Drama Series and Best Performance by an actor in a Supporting role.
