SAMPO PLC STOCK EXCHANGE ANNOUNCEMENT 12 February 2007 10.45 am Sampo plc´s shares subscribed with options A total of 1,057,605 A shares have been subscribed, with the options of Sampo plc's 2000 option programme. As a result of the share subscription, Sampo received a total of EUR 6,493,694.70 in capital and reserves. The subsequent share capital increase of EUR 177,876.39 in total has been entered into the Finnish Trade Register today. Sampo plc's share capital after the increase amounts to EUR 98,113,837.97 and the number of A shares totals 582,158,390 shares. After the increase, the total number of shares of the company, including 1,200,000 B shares, comprises 583,358,390 shares. The new shares will be taken up for trading at the Helsinki Stock Exchange on or about 13 February 2007. They will not entitle to dividend from the accounting period 2006. The subscription period for Sampo 2000 option programme ended on 31 January 2007.
