KONECRANES PLC STOCK EXCHANGE RELEASE 16 MARCH, 2007 KCI Konecranes name change to Konecranes effective today Konecranes has changed its Parent company name from KCI Konecranes Plc to Konecranes Plc. Konecranes trading code on the OMX Helsinki Stock Exchange has accordingly been changed from KCI1V to KCR1V. Trading with the new code will start on 19 March, 2007. The change of name is part of the global brand strategy that Konecranes has been pursuing since September 2006 with regard to all its group companies. “By dropping "KCI" at the beginning of the company name and promoting business consistently under one simplified name, Konecranes aims to systematically increase its brand equity among its customers”, says Pekka Lundmark, President and CEO. The new name was approved by the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders on March 8, 2007 and has been entered in the Trade Register today. The Parent company name in Finnish is ‘Konecranes Oyj' and in Swedish ‘Konecranes Abp'.
