COSTA MESA, Calif., March 21, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- The CDMA Development Group (CDG) today announced the launch of its CDMA University. The University, previously offered through QUALCOMM Incorporated's Engineering Services Group, provides the wireless industry with a comprehensive wireless technology curriculum for engineers and business professionals. Using advanced, easy-to-use and cost-effective training solutions, the CDMA University enables network operators and engineers to gain the additional knowledge they need to remain competitive in the wireless marketplace, while also fostering increased collaboration within the CDMA industry. Regularly scheduled classroom training and online courses are available.
"Establishing CDMA University is a natural progression of our efforts to both grow awareness of CDMA2000(r) network capabilities and enhance the technical expertise of network engineers in deploying and optimizing the performance of CDMA2000 networks and network-based services," said Perry La Forge, executive director of the CDG. The CDMA-based curriculum is comprised of two major training components: standards-based technology fundamentals targeted to the wireless technical and business professional; and network deployment best practices targeted to network engineers. The dual-pronged approach provides students with a foundational technical knowledge base, combined with targeted information applied to an operator's individual network, to enable efficient deployments and achieve optimal performance. Courses include existing and emerging technologies such as EV-DO Release 0 and Revision A, network planning, network optimization, Voice over IP (VoIP), video telephony, location-based services, roaming, multimedia and multicasting services.
