Doro Care Electronics aims at assisting the elderly

Within Care Electronics, Doro develops products combining ergonomics with
functionality and simplicity. Targeting the increasing number of European
senior citizens, with mild or severe impairments, Doro Care Electronics offers
solutions that solve discomforting problems of everyday life.

Doro Care Electronics is a business unit offering an exciting range of
ergonomically designed products developed specifically to help seniors with
common impairments like reduced hearing, vision, mobility or dexterity. On the
basis of consumer surveys Doro has developed products that are to simplify and
help seniors continue doing the things that they enjoy and are used to do.

- The Doro Care Electronics products will empower elderly to maintain a good
social life in spite of any physical dysfunction, says Jérôme Arnaud,
responsible for Care Electronics at Doro. There is a vast potential in
developing specially designed products for the elderly and distributing them
through specialized channels in Europe, he adds.

When designing the new product range, Doro joined forces with Swedish professor
Maria Benktzon and her team at Ergonomidesign, a renowned expert group in
ergonomic design.

- Ergonomics has more to it than putting big buttons onto products. We need to
take into consideration all the aspects of handling the product, including
size, colour, sound, texture, feel, weight and much more. Doro Care Electronics
really meets the demands from an often forgotten group of consumers, says Maria
Benktzon, professor and industrial designer at Swedish Ergonomidesign.

Leading institutions such as Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, the Faculty of
Engineering at Lund University and the Royal National Institute of the Blind
(RNIB), have evaluated some of the Care Electronics products.

The first products sold within Doro Care Electronics are:
• Doro HearPlus 313c - an amplified corded telephone with an easy to read
display and a
bright visual ringer, specially adapted for those with severe hearing
impairment.

• Doro CarePlus - a corded telephone with alert functions and photo key
memories, offering easy and safe communication. Compatible with CarePlus is the
water-resistant pendant Doro SecurePlus 50rc. It allows the user to answer the
telephone or turn on the alarm function while taking a shower, without worrying
about it getting wet.

• Doro RingPlus - an amplifier with a bright strobe ringer that can be used
with all ordinary telephones. Meets the requirements for Doro Audio+. A high
standard mark which assures the user optimal hearing aid compatibility with
superior sound level adjustments.

The Care Electronics products will be demonstrated at the Leva & Fungera fair
in Gothenburg, where Doro will be present between April 24 and April 26.
