Irvine Public Schools Foundation Announces Runway to Success Mentoring Program

Seeking Participants and Local Sponsors

IRVINE, Calif., May 1, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Irvine Public Schools Foundation today announced its plans to launch an Irvine Unified School District Alumni Initiative with the inaugural project, Runway to Success, to be held August 8-11. This mentoring based program will provide college-aged IUSD women alumni with the tools, resources and connections needed to successfully launch their professional careers. Leading Orange County companies will be recruited and engaged to provide mentoring opportunities and important information about various professional career paths from design, marketing, and finance to manufacturing, operations and sales.

This year's project, Runway to Success is open to female IUSD Alumni between the ages of 18 and 25. The cost for each participant is $500, which includes a shared hotel room at the Irvine Crowne Plaza for 3 nights, hosted meals, transportation and all program activities. Current Runway to Success activities include: a women's forum hosted by various local professional organizations; tours of Orange County action sports retail companies culminating in a Project Runway-style experience including a live fashion show; and on-going professional outreach through web and video streaming, podcasting and TV segments.

The IPSF Alumni Initiative is seeking both sponsors and participants for Runway to Success. If you are interested in this opportunity, please contact Jaimee Niles at the IPSF office or visit www.RunwaytoSuccess.org.
