M Street Grocery Grand Opening Event to Support Children's Hospital On 6/23 and 6/24

SEATTLE, June 19, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Seattle's newest urban market, M Street Grocery, officially welcomes the community to their festive grand opening celebration and benefit barbecue from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 23 and Sunday, June 24. All proceeds from this weekend barbecue ($1.99 for a hamburger or hot dog, chips, and a soda) will be donated to Children's Hospital. Tax-deductible donations to Children's Hospital will be accepted throughout the weekend.

"For a number of years, I acted as a volunteer counselor to children diagnosed with cancer at Children's Hospital. Although I cannot devote the time I'd like to counseling right now, the fundraising barbecue is my way to continue helping the hospital and the children," said Matt Randish, M Street Grocery owner.

Following the grocery path of his grandfather and father, Matt really knows how to create a special store experience. Located at 8th and Madison, just a block north from the I-5 exit, M Street Grocery is a full-scale grocery store featuring superb fresh food choices. Patrons will find there is FREE parking in the garage next to the store, perfect for running in and out on an office break or for when shoppers need more time to cruise the aisles. M Street Grocery replaces the old Shop Rite on First Hill. The new building was recently completed and houses M Street Grocery, a parking garage on the ground level, and the M Street Apartments towering above.

Whether you are stocking up for the week, or need to grab a quick bite, the store boasts a wide selection of organic and natural varieties, specialty meats and cheeses, beautiful produce, and a delicious deli called the M Street Cafe. Lunch and dinner are served at the M Street Cafe where they feature a sushi bar, soups, a salad bar, made-to-order sandwiches and subs, pizzas, and so much more. Patrons will also enjoy the M Street Coffee Bar and Bakery as it offers fresh brewed coffee and espresso beverages and scrumptious oven-baked pastries, muffins, cheesecake and scones every day. Another great convenience is one hour of FREE Wi Fi access with a purchase from the M Street Coffee Bar or Bakery.

The M Street Grocery grand opening celebration is sure to be a fun-filled event to include delicious food, a live jazz band, prizes, trip giveaways, and special radio guests from The End 107.7 FM and The Mountain 103.7. Event-goers can pick up The Mountain's 2007 Emerging Artists CD between Noon and 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 23rd. 'The Mods' from The End will be giving away a weekend trip to Sun River Resort on Sunday, June 24th from Noon to 2 p.m.

Two Unlimited Light Hydroplanes will be on display all day long. A huge fan and supporter of hydroplane-racing, Matt is excited to have the M Street Grocery's namesake grace a boat this year. Everyone is encouraged to come out to see the M Street Grocery Hydroplane and the Miss Boat Electric, meet the drivers, and get FREE autographs.

Visitors may also receive FREE hydroplane trading cards while supplies last and FREE copies of Thunder and LIGHTS magazine--a magazine considered a Seafair must-read before the local summer racing action hits. For more information on the hydroplanes, visit http://www.ulrs.org/.
