Destino Wines Announces Dockside Wine Tastings and Rides Down the Napa River

NAPA, Calif., June 21, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Beginning in June 2007, Napa's Destino Wines will start offering by-appointment dockside wine tastings to the general public at its guest house along the Napa River. In addition, Destino will also be launching an innovative new wine club benefit program which features a two-hour yacht cruise of the Napa River for club members who purchase more than two cases of Destino wine in a calendar year.

Hosted by founder and winemaker Christopher Calkins on his 45' cruiser yacht, The Destino, club members will explore the many sights of the Napa River including its beautiful vineyards and wetlands. These private cruises will include a sampling of Destino wines as well as an assortment of wine-friendly cheeses.

"In addition to being passionate about handcrafted winemaking, we are also passionate about sharing our journey with our customers," says Calkins. "With these cruises, we're taking that philosophy quite literally. We think this is a unique, intimate way for our Captain's Club members to taste our wines. At the same time, it gets people out of their car and lets them see a beautiful waterfront side of Napa that many individuals don't get to experience."

Established in 1999 by winemaker and entrepreneur Chris Calkins, Destino Wines is focused on handcrafting exceptional, limited-production wines from top Napa Valley and Sonoma County grapes. Destino works with a handful of the finest family-owned vineyards from both regions to produce its small portfolio of artisan wines, which include Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, and a new red blend (The Mask).
