Medicis Announces Share Repurchase Program Up to $200 Million


SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Aug. 29, 2007 (PRIME NEWSWIRE) -- Medicis (NYSE:MRX) today announced that its Board of Directors has approved a stock trading plan to purchase up to $200 million in aggregate value of shares of Medicis' Class A common stock upon satisfaction of certain conditions. Medicis' plan was adopted in accordance with guidelines specified under Rule 10b5-1 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, as amended.

The number of shares to be repurchased and the timing of any repurchases (if any) will depend on factors such as the stock price, economic and market conditions, and corporate and regulatory requirements. The plan is scheduled to terminate on the earlier of the first anniversary of the plan or at the time when the purchase limit is reached.
