Gasoline Prices Mixed

HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwire - September 13, 2007) - The statewide average gas price did not change from last week after posting an increase the prior week. The Texas average remained flat while regions of the state showed a mix of slight increases or decreases, according to the AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch. The national average also remained flat.

"It's a mixed bag of price changes now, because there is so much volatility in the market," said AAA Texas spokeswoman Rose Rougeau. "There is less demand, but there are also concerns about supply due to the hurricane season and high oil prices."

Amarillo went down five cents but remains the highest average at $2.917.

At $2.597 a gallon, Houston has the lowest average on this week's survey -- an increase of less than one penny. This is the second time in three weeks that Houston has the lowest average in the state.
