EMERYVILLE, CA--(Marketwire - February 1, 2008) - Media Publisher, Inc., the leader in
Enterprise Video Communications (EVC), today announced it has changed its
name to Qumu, Inc. The new name
reflects the company's aggressive approach in providing video solutions for
enterprises looking to more effectively communicate to their employees and
customers.
"This is an extremely exciting period for the company as we continue to
build momentum with our enterprise video solutions," said Ray Hood, president
and CEO of Qumu. "We achieved many milestones in 2007 which included:
strong Q4 sales performance resulting in record revenues for the year; the
addition of key new customers such as Dell, Northwest Mutual Life, and UBS;
recognition by Inc Magazine as one of the fastest growing private companies
in America; and the additions of two key industry veterans to the
management team, Chuck Lucci and Claude Dupuis in charge of sales and
engineering respectively. Qumu will make significant strides forward in
2008."
In native American mythology the Bear is an important figure, and qumu is
the firepower within that gives him his great strength. Similarly, video
plays an increasingly critical role in how enterprises effectively
communicate, and Qumu provides the core software solution that enables
firms to easily capture, manage, publish and distribute live and on-demand video content.
The use of video as the 'preferred-choice' for communicating in today's
dispersed work environment is at an all-time high. Companies are using
video in live and on-demand webcasts, recorded video conferences, employee
training, executive briefings, and product announcements while
simultaneously keeping the costs of doing business as low as possible. IT
departments are required to leverage investments in existing resources and
tools and the rampant use of video amongst consumers is driving
expectations for individuals to experience the vitality of video in the
workplace.
