IRVING, TX--(Marketwire - December 2, 2008) - All nine Dallas/Ft. Worth area AAA District
Offices are teaming up with the "Toys for Tots" program to collect toys for
the 2008 holiday season. Members of the community are encouraged to drop
their donations off at any office through mid-December.
The "Toys for Tots" program is accepting new toys of any kind for any age
group. Last year the program reached more than 7 million children
nationwide by collecting and distributing toys and educational materials.
AAA Texas offices are located and provide service in the Arlington area,
Dallas Central, Dallas North, Ft. Worth, Garland, Irving, Lewisville, North
Tarrant County, and Plano.
"Our AAA offices recognized collecting for 'Toys for Tots' is a service we
could offer in the community, and we are proud to support an organization
that has established itself as a leader in reaching needy children," said
AAA Texas Corporate Communications Manager Dan Ronan. "We encourage the
community to drop off new and unwrapped toys that will be distributed
during the holiday season."
"Toys for Tots" began 61 years ago in Los Angeles when U.S. Marine Corps
Reserve Major Bill Hendricks and his wife recognized a need for this
service in their own community and founded the organization. In 1948,
"Toys for Tots" expanded into a nationwide campaign.
The community is welcome to drop off donations at any Dallas/Ft. Worth area
office through mid-December. Log on to www.AAA.com to find the location
