TORONTO, Dec. 9, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Kent State University (KSU) is proud to announce the launch of the online Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN/BSN) for the registered nurse in collaboration with Embanet ULC, a leading partner in higher education with a history of partnering with academic institutions to aid in the development of successful online programs. In keeping with the standards met by all KSU's College of Nursing programs, the RN/BSN is expected to be academically outstanding and highly profitable to the University.

The RN/BSN online degree, which can be completed in two years, will begin in January 2009. Met with great response from the nursing community, the program is aimed at nursing professionals who want to expand their qualifications, increase their competitive edge and gain further knowledge in the ever-expanding field of healthcare. The flexibility of being able to work at any time from any Internet connection is ideal for busy professionals and the varied experiences brought to the program by their online colleagues extends the breadth and range of each student's learning. Dr. Thomas E. Downey, Embanet's Chief Academic Officer commented: "Embanet is excited at further expanding our offerings into the online Health Care Education field. We have been in this market successfully for several years. Recently, one of our graduates won the highest honor from her university for academic excellence.
