NewMarket Technology, Inc. Announces East Africa Trade Mission May 11th to Support Regional Launch Headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya
East African Launch to Introduce Company's Greenfield Strategy for Ongoing Emerging Market Expansion
| Source: NewMarket Technology, Inc.
DALLAS, TX--(Marketwire - January 27, 2009) - NewMarket Technology, Inc. (PINKSHEETS : NMKT )
today announced that it will host an East Africa Trade Mission departing
May 11, 2009 to Kenya. The Trade Mission will be directed at developing
investment for early stage businesses in East Africa. NewMarket is
developing a pipeline of East African acquisition candidate companies that
support NewMarket's emerging market systems integration vision and mission.
However, the Trade Mission will also present investment candidates outside
of NewMarket's systems integration concentration. Early stage investment
candidate industries will include high-tech, agriculture, municipal
infrastructure, energy, urban development and manufacturing.
NewMarket has previously launched emerging market operations in Asia and
South America. With over 70% of the Company's approximately $100 million
in annual revenue coming from emerging markets, NewMarket has established
itself as an emerging market systems integrator. The East African Trade
Mission is the launch of NewMarket's emerging market expansion onto the
African continent.
The East African launch also marks the beginning of a Greenfield business
development strategy for NewMarket. Since 2002, NewMarket has utilized
micro-cap business development strategies to expand the Company's overall
operation from $2 million in annual revenue to approximately $100 million
in annual revenue. In conjunction with the magnitude of NewMarket's
current operations, the Company intends to move away from continuing to
utilize micro-cap business development strategies to directly expand the
core operation.
Alternatively, NewMarket's Greenfield strategy will entail facilitating the
use of micro-cap business development strategies outside of the Company in
order to develop emerging market candidates prior to acquisition by
NewMarket. NewMarket will partner with other organizations to establish an
independent publicly listed holding company dedicated to acquiring and
investing in East African early stage business opportunities. NewMarket
will further participate with its partners to identify candidate systems
integration companies for acquisition by the independent publicly listed
holding company. Following the acquisition of one or more regional systems
integration companies, NewMarket will provide services to the one or more
acquired companies to facilitate their growth and expansion. Once the
companies acquired by the regional holding company have established
sustainable momentum, NewMarket will then consider the acquisition of the
regional systems integrators from the holding company. NewMarket's
partners in the regional holding company will have similar interests with
other candidate acquisitions not in the systems integration field.
